“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]” -Galatians5:22-23, 25AMPC
When I looked to the ground and saw all of those busted, rotten fruit all could say was, “I’m sorry Lord! I’m sorry for all the times I allowed being irritated and frustrated cause me to lose my patience, I’m sorry for the times I didn’t display self-control in the midst of being wrong, I’m sorry for the times I didn’t press harder into the “greater is He that is in me that he that is of the world.”
Yes, the Bible says be angry and sin not, meaning we have a right to have emotions but for me personally, I don’t like how those emotions feel, I don’t like how they make me feel afterwards -Looking at those rotten fruit brought me back to those feelings and I don’t care if I had valid reasons to be upset, the view just wasn’t pretty.
Today I’m so thankful for healthy roots and a good harvest to know God graced me with plenty more fruit. I’m going to treat these organic fruits of the spirit with extra care. I want to feed others good tasty fruit, even my enemy(s) or someone who has harmed me, I want them to eat good, Proverbs 25:22-22 reads “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord will reward you.” It’s not my job to help someone digest what they’ve done to me. Enjoy and serve up some good fruit today, it’s harvest season!!
